» Customer Support Rep – How-to Help Desk

The How-to Help Desk is a new service offering by DB Pros.  DB Pros is a database and business advisory and implementation provider in northern NJ, servicing entrepreneurs and small businesses.

The How-to Help Desk is designed to help business owners and their teams resolve desktop application issues.  It can also be a resource for employees of mid-size and large corporations.  All support is provided through screen-sharing, phone and webcam.   The goal is to provide support to clients that will resolve application issues within a 15-minute timeframe.

DB Pros is seeking people with intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access), as well as some other basic business applications (Card Scan (and other scan products), Windows (Basics), Pop and Exchange email, ACT!, Netsuite, Oracle CRM, Salesforce.com, Maximizer.  Good in one, but not the others?  That’s okay!  We’re looking for “product experts” that can take on issues for a given product and help customers work through the issue.

What to expect:

  • We are looking for part-time workers.  The service is on an as-needed basis — queries get answered as they come in.
  • Pay is based on a per service hour basis (not straight per-hour).  For example, for every four 15-minute queries you respond to, you will get paid for one hour of service.
  • Flexible hours.  The Help desk is open from 9am – 9pm EST.  We are looking for people to cover various shifts.
  • Pay is based on experience with both the products and customer service.  Pay starts at $12 per hour (hours are determined by amount of service completed)
  • You will be an independent contractor for DB Pros, not a part-time employee.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong customer service/interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Patience in dealing with customer questions
  • Tech-savvy
  • Microsoft Office Specialist Certificate preferred, but not required
  • Must have own computer and phone (you will be provided with all of the software tools necessary to complete each query)
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
